Merit Scholarships and Incentive Programs

Academic Incentive Awards:
Academic awards are given to students who demonstrate strong academic performance, a desire to succeed, and a willingness to participate actively in the school community. Candidates are considered based on scores earned on the TACHS exam, top academic average during middle school career, excellent conduct and effort and good attendance record. Notifications will be mailed after January 20th, 2023.

Academic Scholarships:
Academic based Scholarship applications are available for eighth grade students. The completed application along with supporting documents (listed on the application) and TACHS scores will be considered for full or partial tuition scholarships. Deadline to apply, January 3rd, 2023.  Additional opportunities may be offered to excelling students if funds become availableThis application is different from an application for limited need-based Tuition assistance.

SJB Sponsorships:
Excelling Jeanites with a demonstrated need entering their second year at SJB who have a consistent record of academic success and school service may be considered for limited tuition assistance sponsorships if they become available. More information is shared as the Jeanites enters sophomore year.
 
 
 
NON SJB-BASED SUPPORT AND RECOGNITION PROGRAMS
 
Student Sponsor Partners:
We partner with sponsors to support studentsA nonprofit, tax exempt organization which aids public and catholic school students in earning their high school diploma from a private school. SSP offers a combination of financial and personal support. Applications are available at www.sspnyc.org. Contact your guidance counselor for additional information.
 
Be A Student’s Friend:
8th graders who currently attend a Catholic elementary school and who receive the “Be a Student’s Friend Scholarship” or Children’s Scholarship Fund may continue to receive this scholarship at St. Jean’s by renewing the application through TADS at the appropriate time of 8th Grade through the guidance of Inner City Scholarship.
