Honor Societies

Throughout their time at St. Jean’s students have the opportunity to apply for membership to several honor societies.  Acceptance to these societies is based on demonstrated academic success, proven leadership, and a commitment to service.  

 

HonoreesFRENCH HONOR SOCIETY

Membership in the Société Honoraire de Français is open to Grade 12 students. Candidates must have a cumulative average of at least 85%, and maintained a 90% average in their language classes. The candidate must exhibit a love of language learning by striving to achieve more than the minimum 2 years in language required by the school.

French Honor Society

NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY

Membership in the National Art Honor Society is open to Grade 12 students.  Candidates must have a cumulative average of at least 85% and maintained a 90% average in their art classes.  The candidate must exhibit a love of the arts by striving to achieve four or more semesters in art classes. Candidates must also exhibit leadership and character and give ten hours of service to a community art project. 

 

NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY

Membership in the National English Honor Society is open to Grades 10, 11, and 12. Candidates must have a weighted cumulative average of at least 85% overall and 85% in English to be inducted into the society. Members must maintain their cumulative averages and be active participants in organizing, helping at, and attending literary and NEHS fundraising events at SJB in order to remain members in good standing.

 

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Membership in the National Honor Society is open to Grade 11 and 12 students. Candidates must have a weighted cumulative average of at least 85%. They must also exhibit leadership, service, and character.

 

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY

Membership in the Sociedad Honoria Hispánica is open to Grade 12 students. Candidates must have a cumulative average of at least 85%, and maintained a 90% average in their language classes. The candidate must exhibit a love of language learning by striving to achieve more than the minimum 2 years in language required by the school. (3 years of study for non-native students and 4 years of study for native).
