Naomi Ellen "Dede" Rubin

It is with sadness that we relay the news of the death of Naomi Ellen "Dede" Rubin. Mrs. Rubin, the St. Jean Baptiste High School guidance counselor from 1980 to 1986, died peacefully on July 29 at the age of 90. She was an admired educator, school psychologist, master bridge player, avid tennis player and golfer, lover of literature, theater, worldwide travel and a member of the Democratic party. Dede is survived by her adoring husband of 65 years, Fred; her cherished children, Pamela, Peter and Tom; their devoted spouses, Jon, Lara and Nina; her beloved grandchildren, Jake, Harry, Nicholas, Sophia, Katharine, Acadia, Robert and Chloe; her revered sister, for whom she was a role model, Barbaralee, and her husband, Carl; and many loving cousins.

The alumnae life and connectivity at St. Jean's is intense and multifaceted. Alumnae carry the bold spirit of our founders, St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, and the school's tradition of leadership and action wherever they go. They are global ambassadors for SJB, and illustrate to our present study body what is possible through a St. Jean's education and a lot of hard work.

If you have any questions or would like to connect with us and our many activities, please reach out to fellow alumnae and Vice President Flora Lugo at
