About St. Jean's

Outside of St. Jean's

Founded in 1929, St. Jean Baptiste High School, located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, educates young women of diverse strengths and backgrounds. Through a rigorous academic program, St. Jean Baptiste High School prepares its graduates to excel in college and their future professions. As a Catholic community rooted in the spirit of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, the foundress of the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame, St. Jean Baptiste High School develops women of faith, service, and leadership and empowers the whole community to participate actively in the transformation of society for a more just world.

Now, we are blessed to have two anniversaries to celebrate this year: the 90th Anniversary of the school, and the 400th Anniversary of the birth of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, the foundress of the Congregation of Notre Dame. Our 350 young women continue to live out those values in school, at the colleges they attend, and in their lives after school.
