Technology class will provide knowledge and the latest technology tools to facilitate students to be a “student oriented to the future”, one of the SJB vision.

Tech 9: This is a semester class. Students are introduced to basic computer operations concepts (Hardware and software). With the use of appropriate software students will learn how to code, creating programs and games. They also will do specific projects and practices with Google applications.

Tech 10:  This is a semester class where students learn how to manage all of the tools of Google Applications (DOCS, SHEETS, SLIDES, FORMS, etc.). With the use of spreadsheets they learn how to organize data, using charts and graphs to present data in different ways, perform calculations with formulas and share and collaborate with others.

Tech 11: The content of the course and interactions between students and the teacher will take place in the classroom and virtually. All the material for the course will be located online in Google Classroom. In this subject, the student will learn through the exchange of ideas using different technology tools such as QR codes, animoto, prezi, virtual and augmented reality, and more. All these tools can be applied in other subjects through the sharing of knowledge and the use of technology.   Special attention is paid in this course on how technology skills can be used to enhance our understanding of and performance in other disciplines such as math and science.  

TECH 11 Coding: This elective focuses on Code with Google.  It is a project bases class where each student will study the mechanics of coding and are responsible for a coding project.  Storytelling is a complete theme designed to be completed over 8 weeks.  For each lesson, students will watch a series of videos and learn to create one coding project with opportunities to personalize their work using “Add-ons”. Which are mini coding challenges that build on top of the core coding project.  

TECH 11 Google Certification:  This course builds on students’ prior knowledge of the entire suite of Google Applications.  Students will explore the many uses of different Google applications and tools.  Students will receive a Google Certification upon completion of this course.
