This past Saturday, St. Jean Baptiste hosted close to 300 persons who attended our annual Alumnae Reunion. This was THREE times the number of attendees last year. Jeanites from as far back as the class of 1949 - and who traveled from as far as Italy, Ireland, California and Colorado - showed up to celebrate and reminisce about their amazing shared history at the best Catholic girls' high school in New York City.
The event was anchored by our four honorees: Sr. Patricia Flattery, class of '59, Mary Lou Powderly, class of '59, Sheena Laughlin, class of '60, and long-time English department stalwart, Joel Lacuria. Good food, great music, lots of giggles, and more than a few lifelong friendships were the calling cards of the day.
The following day, on Sunday, over fifty Jeanites attended Mass at our Parish, St. Jean Baptiste, as part of our newly formed Jeanite Parish Club. After Mass, our girls stayed for Oktoberfest, painting little faces and playing games in the courtyard with our Parishioners. All in all, it was a non-stop SJB weekend.
We wouldn't have it any other way.
See you next year. See you at our Scholarship Gala on May 21st.
