ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS
What is an Endowed Fund?
Endowed funds differ from other ways of giving in that they are truly the gift that keeps giving. Instead of the entire amount of the gift being spent outright, the total amount of the gift is invested. Each year, only a portion of the invested income earned is spent while the remainder is added to the original principal. An endowment is a perpetual gift because only the interest is used for scholarships while the principle continuously grows.
Endowed Scholarships:
Establishing an endowed scholarship provides a permanent and personal way for you to make a difference in the life of a St. Jean’s student. Most of our students depend on some sort of financial aid to achieve their dreams. You can help turn their dreams into reality, now and in the future, by establishing an endowed scholarship fund. This scholarship fund would be a perpetual means of bringing honor to the person for whom the endowment is named.
Scholarships may be endowed with an initial gift of $25,000 or they may be created by a pledge to be paid over a period of years.
